Welcome  to my gallery of icons and illuminations. All the paintings you see on these pages are original pieces, painstakingly created using historical pigments, egg tempera and real gold leaf in the traditional medieval manner. I support my work with careful research and study. I paint in a fresh and luminous style, aiming to give my icons a fresh voice within the ancient iconographic tradition. I take inspiration from the finest Byzantine and Romanesque panel paintings, frescoes and manuscript illuminations. Often people accustomed to uniform reproductions from commercial workshops tell me 'Your icons are different'. High praise indeed. I am proud to say my icons  grace homes across the UK, in the USA, Europe, South Africa and New Zealand.
